DIN: Typeface Promo Film

This motion design piece promotes the DIN typeface by combining an electronic glitch aesthetic with the traditional German DIN typeface. Originally established as an industrial standard in 1931 by German engineer Ludwig Goller, DIN was initially used for road signage, playing a key role in public infrastructure. Over time, it has had a lasting influence. Even today, DIN remains timeless, and I aim to showcase its versatility and different possibilities in the modern environment through the fusion of electronic distortion. Set to the austere electronic music of German Techno artist Recondite, the piece explores the typeface’s unique appeal, broad impact, and potential for stylistic evolution across different eras.
